We had an afternoon and most of the next day to fill in Delhi. We booked a single night in South Delhi, about halfway between the airport and Connaught Place, the commercial centre of New Delhi.

Using the new, and very impressive, metro system, we did some final exploring. There were a couple of popular attractions within a couple of stops of the station next to the hotel.

  • Thanks Chris and Jan for sharing your beautiful photos from India with us, along with stories of your really interesting adventures. The richness of your sways mean we almost feel like we are on holidays with you. What have you got planned for your next trip?

    • As you know Mark, our motivation in writing these stories is so we can read them ourselves to refresh our memories as the years go by. Or as dementia sets in. 🙂 So, the more we can capture the moment, the richer our memories will be.

As for the future, we want to get back to South America to do some classic walks in places like Terra del Fuego, Patagonia, and perhaps Equador. We have stayed in contact with one of our fellow trekkers from the Jordan walk who may join us. That’s a Southern Hemisphere summer, so maybe early 2027? We have a couple more European trips mapped out, although not the grand 13-month adventure we did in 22/23.

But there is something just bubbling up that might see us in London for Christmas this year. More to come on that!
