As you would know by now, much of the planning for our trip has been to land in places that offer classic walking trails. Saxon Swiss National Park in Eastern Germany was one of our main walking destinations.

In this Post we take you with us on one of the all-time great walks we have done, to a local tourist icon, and take you cycling along the Elbe River and across a country border.

We hope you are enjoying our travel stories. Don't forget to make some comments below.

  • Love the use of the clock showing how long you’ve been on the road. Two and a half months and you’ve done so much! The variety on terrains, cuisine, languages and cultures is on full display from your posts. I absolutely love your sways! The photos from the walk are particularly stunning. Did the area seem to have a Blue Mountains aspect to it at all?

    • Similar heights to the Blue Mountains. The views from the top did remind us of looking over the Three Sisters from Echo Point at Katoomba.

If you have ever done the scary walk down the side of the Three Sisters from the car park to the walking trail at the bottom, complete with its ladders and cables, you’ll have an idea of what the stretch across the top is like. So, yes, some similarities.

Great to read your posts, Mark. We hope to get the next one out in the next day or two. If you liked Amsterdam, you will love Wrocław and Kraków.
