Since leaving home at Palm Cove seven weeks ago, we have been a long way from the sea. Apart from a couple of sightings of Port Phillip Bay in Melbourne, the sea has been a long way from where were have travelled. Such a change from the beach walks we so often do at home.
But at Newcastle, our first stop after Orange , we are back on the coast. A few days of ocean views, before again heading inland. We spent some time in Tamworth, and then in the glorious city of Toowoomba in southern Queensland.

Having not seen Tamworth at its best (in August), are you both planning to get back there for the January music festival one day do you think?
Maybe not Tamworth. I used to visit Armidale for work in the 1980s, and that’s a nicer town. We only stopped there for a brief break this time, but we’d go there over Tamworth. That said, the music festival would be a hoot.
Toowoomba, on the other hand, had something about it. We may keep our eyes open for house sitting there over the next few years.
