We finished our time in the marvellous Czech Republic with a long weekend in Prague and surrounds. Natalie and Dom had a bank holiday in the UK, so they were able to join us again.

We had been in Prague in 2016, and did most of the tourist things then. This time we got to a couple of the places we missed, including a day trip to the UNESCO-listed city of Kutna Hora.

This time around, it was more of a family catch-up, roaming the streets of Prague in a less structured way. We had some good meals and saw some jazz.

We hope you enjoy our story of this brief revisit to Prague. It brought the curtain down on our few weeks in this remarkable country. Make sure you get here yourselves sometime!

  • Finding a horrible Czech beer is like finding a horrible Belgian chocolate. Not easy to do! It was great to see the old sway from 2016 linked in as well. Does the city feel much the same as before? Some thinks seem to never change; other things seem to change a little too often, e.g. St Kilda coaches!

    • European cities change over centuries. St Kilda changes coaches on a much faster timescale!

Our first visit to Prague was at the absolute height of the tourist season. The weather was warm and there were swarms of tourists fighting for their turn at the attractions. The city itself feels the same, but this time more relaxed with smaller crowds.

Prague is clearly one of the world’s great cities.
