After our restful stops in Antalya and Bodrum, we headed inland again to see another of the great attractions of Turkey, the white terraces of Pamukkale. Photos of the beautiful aqua pools against a pure white background feature prominently in all the tourist advertising for visitors to this country.

When we saw them for ourselves, we weren't disappointed. They really were quite a unique vision. But we also learnt that the terraces weren't the only thing to see there. Have a look at the Sway to see what else we discovered in Pamukkale.

  • Thanks Chris and Jan for another wonderful update on a fascinating location I’ve never heard about before (another place to add to our future travels list!). Does the benefit of travelling away from the crowds in winter make up for the issues arising from the cold and rain? Or would you recommend going in summer instead?

    • That’s a good question Mark. It was cloudy the day we were there and I think the pools would look better if the sun was out. If it was snowing it would be really hard to do the walk in bare feet. Maybe May/June would be best, before the crowds have really built up.
